Designing business systems to include logos. notepads, business cards, banners, tri-fold brochures, and more while maintaining their brand identity. Making files print ready for different printers and their preferred file specifications while taking account of trims, bleeds, color profiles, appropriate file types, and file sizes.
As an independent artist, I run my own brand based in alternative subcultures in goth, punk, and fantasy with a touch of humor and whimsy to reach my audience and create something unique. I create the designs and illustrations for business cards, greeting cards, bumper stickers, clothing, enamel pins, and more. Techniques vary from using adobe illustrator, making hand drawn type in procreate, using Photoshop to edit product photos, and making all hand drawn illustrations either traditionally with paint or digitally - whatever the job calls for to get it done!
For some of my freelance work, particularly with event fliers, is where I get to mix my love for both graphic design and illustration. I create the illustrations in either Adobe Illustrator with traditional paint or digitally in Procreate. For layout design and typeset I use Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. With filers, subject matter varies widely depending on if its for bands, market events, or Holiday parties. These showcase a variety of styles and purposes depending on the target audience.
As a production artist, I independently manage the prepress department. Part of my day-to-day is reviewing and editing files from clients using Adobe programs while adhering to each client’s brand standards. File preparation can include logo editing, color management, and typesetting. I work directly with customer service representatives and production personnel to prepare proofs and files for offset and digital printing. Some of our clients include Travis County, City of Austin, Honda, Mercedes, and Budweiser.
